Chapbook of poems

CONSUMPTION feels like a haunted house. It explores grief and family addiction in all of its facets: the longing for normalcy, translations of what was and what will be, with a Greek chorus as a guide. It operates like a memory reel, inviting the reader to look closely at what it is to be truly consumed while offering a way out.

Spirit Guide

My mother’s mother

makes her appearances

in my dreams.

We only come together

in moving vehicles:

A speeding car,

a white 1970’s pick-up truck,

a wobbly ambulance—

Always with a flurry

of violence around us.

She even peels on a smile

in the middle of it all.
